What WordCatch is

WordCatch is a communication aid. It learns how a person with limited speech says their words, from recordings the family makes and moments it hears at home, and says those words clearly so the people around them can understand.

What it isn’t

Not a medical device. WordCatch is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
Not a replacement for an AAC system or a professional. It doesn’t replace a person’s AAC system, or an evaluation or therapy by a speech-language pathologist or other professional. The progress report is an informational summary, not a clinical assessment.
Not always right. WordCatch’s guesses can be wrong. Don’t rely on it in emergencies, or for medical, safety or legal decisions.

Using WordCatch

WordCatch records the person it’s learning from, and it can listen to conversations nearby. Only record people with their permission, and tell the people around you when listening is on. In some places, recording a conversation requires everyone’s consent. How WordCatch handles recordings and data is described in the Privacy Policy.

WordCatch is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

WordCatch is made by ColeCustomWorks. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by ASHA, AssistiveWare, Apple or any other organization named in the app or on this website. Proloquo2Go is a trademark of AssistiveWare. Apple, iPad, iPhone, iCloud and Apple Intelligence are trademarks of Apple Inc. Symbol sets are credited in the app under Settings › About › Credits.
